Well whatta ya know ... we have lift off. Against My Religion written by the most awesome Dude himself, Steven Urenda, launched. He and I decided to take the long route through the literary desert to get this puppy published, but it will be worth it all. At least, we think so. Congrats Steve O! You did good Brutha.
Here's what Steve says the book is about (I tend to agree) ...
Against My Religion is a collection of essays, outbursts, and musings of my life. It ranges from the bizarre settings of the cult upbringing to my own insecurities of fronting heavy metal bands in the clubs of LA and Detroit. Brutally honest, thoughtfully compelling, and surprisingly humorous. It’s my first outing as a self-satirist and I hope it will make you think, cry, and laugh out loud on airplanes.
I am painfully aware that I’m a walking contradiction. But then again, who isn’t? The following pages are a wide array of seemingly contradictory topics, sub-topics, and sub-sets of said sub-topics. We’ll dive head first into the funny, and sometimes frightening, elements of postmodern American pop culture versus the alleged ethics of pseudo-spiritual theology. I have used myself as the preferred lab rat.
It will make you think, cry, and laugh out loud on airplanes. |
