Alten Ink Goes Shabby Chic

Apparently I get bored of things quite quickly. So yet again I am changing the Alten Ink header and am going Shabby Chic. Actually, I've always been shabby chic but I didn't think it was business savvy. But I've decided that I'm just gonna be me (don't edit that).

I'm a rocker (any kind of heavy metal will do), but I live on the soft side unless you get into my headphones.

Just so you know, the header comes from Shabby Blogs and the image of the books that I added can be found on Wikimedia Commons; the Alten Ink logo is mine ... sort of ... okay I put it together from Word graphics.

Of course, it is certainly possible that if you come back for another visit AI might yet have another look. One of these days we'll have a brand. For now ... AI is chic, just chic and shabby and we have a Mission statement and such ...

Mission Statement: Our desire is to help new writers become published writers. Whether it’s publishing for family and friends, or a slightly bigger audience, it’s AI’s goal to show each writer how to begin this journey, stay on course and finish well. We’ll coach them on how to begin the writing process: then from self-editing to finding an editor. Submitting their polished manuscripts to AI or other publishers is the next step. Our focus is to be there every step of the way.

Company Goals and Objectives: AI’s goal is to create a family friendly company: Each author is treated like a good friend who share the same passions, learning to work together toward a common goal even if we might not see eye to eye 100 percent of the time. Keeping the cost of publishing down is our objective. Therefore, we publish with CreateSpace and Kindle, so there is no overhead.

Business Philosophy: We want to work with writers who can’t seem to find a fit for their manuscripts; book might be slightly controversial, different, or submissions may have been living on the slush pile because the author had no reputation/clout yet, or submitted their work to the wrong publisher. AI will publish all genres, especially speculative fiction, poetry collections, short/flash fiction stories and cookbooks because these are a hard sell to traditional publishers. We want to resurrect the Slush Pile.
